I was so excited to be asked by the amazing Rachel Spencer to take part in her podcast about my journey with Happipup and how I have harnessed the power of community.
In this podcast, I talk honestly and openly about:
What it really felt like to go from the security of a regular job to taking my part-time business full time.
How I suddenly found myself having to be responsible for all things business – from marketing and bookkeeping to social media and website design!
How overwhelmed I felt in the early days and how I had to come up with a plan to tackle those things that I really struggled with.
The simple solutions I came up with which transformed these struggles.
The big mistake I made in the beginning by comparing myself to others.
I felt like a failure when I didn’t get the same success that other pet businesses were achieving.
I realised that I had to do what felt right for me which took me from worrying about not filling one class to not having enough hall slots for everyone that wanted to join us!
How I really didn’t feel comfortable spending lots of time and energy on this and how the thought of doing a Facebook Live filled me with dread!
So instead of:
I put myself out there in a way that felt right for me: going out and about and TALKING to people face to face!
Why I love to build relationships and partnerships with other local businesses and how we help each other.
How our aim is to build a genuinely supportive community for all pup parents and their 4- legged friends.
Ways in which we are helping with the cost-of-living crisis by helping pet parents save money and reduce waste.
Hear about our out-and-about adventures with our well-behaved pups.
How the local community love watching us teaching our dogs to skateboard.
How I plucked up the courage to dance with a cactus and all about welcoming a life-size cut out of Danny DeVito to our classes!
Find out what’s next for Happipup and whether it may involve a birthday cake!
